Dragon Aye!

Dragon I

If you are looking for creative, contemporary cuisine influenced by a fusion of Thai, Malay and Chinese influences then look no further. Ward winning chef Stephen will delight your taste buds with his twist on Asian dishes!

When they opened the doors for the first time, in this prime spot facing the Theatre Royal they, had a vision to produce an ‘unforgettable’ experience for their customers. Their track record and staying power in such a prime spot I’d say they have been successful with their concept.

Dishes created by chef Stephen, such as their Huk Guen – Stornaway black pudding spring rolls topped with a Thai chilli sauce shows how creative he is with local, Scottish ingredients. I had booked at the last minute and they were very gracious in adapting the dishes I chose to suit my dietary requirements.

I know how frustrating it can be in this business to deal with with, gluten intolerance, fish allergies and the very serious NUT problem. Of course some restaurant owners think vegans are just nuts and if you want Free From food then you should go to a place specialising in your specific needs. I agree with this because we cannot all be good at everything.

Dragon I is certainly good at what they do and I enjoyed every, meaty, floury, morsel and ate my plate clean. My Sichuan Gai was colourful, seasoned to perfection, tasty and nutritious. I had no room for dessert and will give them another visit soon, very soon. to sample the Pre-Theatre menu which look very good value for at under £15!
